The short version

RaDdle is a free Destiny 2 guessing game. It stores the games you play and, if you sign in, the account they belong to. It shows no adverts, runs no analytics or tracking scripts, sets no advertising cookies, and sells nothing to anybody.

RaDdle never sees your Bungie or Discord password. Signing in happens through d2communityhub and Discord, and RaDdle only ever receives the resulting identity.

What is stored

If you play without signing in

Your game — the encounters you guessed, when, and whether you finished — is stored on the server and identified only by a random game id. That id is kept in your browser's local storage so the board can find your game again. Nothing identifies you personally.

If you sign in

  • Your Bungie membership id, display name and name code, received from d2communityhub when you sign in.
  • Your games, linked to that membership id, and the statistics derived from them — streaks, guess distribution, finishing positions.
  • A session token, of which only a SHA-256 hash is ever stored on the server.

If you play through the Discord Activity

  • Your Discord user id, display name and avatar reference, used to show who is playing on the channel card. If you sign in, these are also attached to your account.
  • A record of each launch — which server and channel, and when — so the card can show the right people to the right channel. These records delete themselves after 48 hours.

Technical data

Your IP address is used transiently to apply rate limits and is not written to the database. Server logs record which requests were made and how long they took, not who made them.

How long it is kept

DataKept for
Your account and game historyUntil you ask for it to be deleted
Sign-in sessionsUntil they expire or you sign out
Discord Activity launch records48 hours, deleted automatically
Channel card records24 hours, deleted automatically
Daily summary records7 days, deleted automatically

Game history may also be cleared in full if the game's puzzle numbering is ever reset. That has happened once, at launch.

Who it is shared with

  • d2communityhub — provides sign-in, and receives your RaDdle statistics (games played, completions, streaks) so they can appear on your profile there and count toward Triumphs. It receives no other data.
  • Discord — only if you use the Discord Activity. Your spoiler-free results appear on a card in the channel you launched from, visible to that channel. Nothing is posted anywhere you did not launch.
  • Cloudflare — carries traffic to the site.

Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with advertisers or data brokers.

Your choices

  • Play without an account. The whole game works signed out.
  • Ask for your data. Email the address below and you can have a copy of what is held about you, or have it deleted.
  • Clear your browser storage to detach this device from any games played anonymously on it.

Deleting your RaDdle data does not affect your Bungie, Discord or d2communityhub accounts, which are not ours to touch.

Children

RaDdle is not directed at children under 13, and accounts come from Discord and Bungie, both of which set their own minimum ages.
